Shaochen Liang

Gender: Male
Date of Birth: June 11, 2005
Region: Tianjin, China
Condition: Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia L2 (ALL)
Medical Cost: More than $50,000

Shaochen was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia L2 when he was three years old. By that time, the family’s complete savings was just a little more than 10,000 RMB. In the past year and a half, they've spent around 160,000 RMB on the medical treatment, most of which was borrowed from or donated by a lot of warm-hearted friends and relatives. Though Shaochen suffered time and time again through the medical treatments, Shaochen showed a strong desire for living. The medical treatments seemed to be going relatively smooth. The family was relieved and felt very positive with the treatment.

Unfortunately, in March 2010, the lab work showed that the leukemia had spread to the brain. The doctor in Shandong Qilu Children's Hospital, in which Shaochen has been treated, said there is very little hope that he could be cured. Looking at Shaochen's innocent smile, his parents wouldn’t give up and decided to go to the best blood disease hospital in Tianjin , China—The Institute of Hematology & Blood Diseases. With the help from the warm hearted people on the internet, they went to Tianjin on March 23rd, 2010 and had the Professor of Pediatrics see Shaochen. Fortunately, the hospital finally accepted Shaochen to be treated there. We were excited to find out that the latest lab work showed that no leukemia was found in Shaochens brain! This is great news for the whole family!

However, the medical treatment is expensive. They have spent more than 30,000 RMB within 2 weeks since the treatment started. They do not have enough money to afford future treatments. Please give the family a hand. Your generous help on his future medical treatment will be greatly appreciated! We believe that with your help, we will see a healthy and happy Shaochen in the near future!

Region: Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province
Condition: Severe Burn

Burn damage from years ago left Luhan with severe adhesion of her neck and chin, along with a deformed mouth making eating and speaking very difficult. Children didn't want to play with her and schools refused to take her in. With the help of a group of caring people, Luhan underwent two operations in Feb. 2009 and her condition has significantly improved. Taixing Ji

Gender: Male
Date of Birth: April 24, 2004
Region: Tianchang, Anhui Province
Condition: Severe Burn
Medical Cost: $3,000

Taixing Ji, nicknamed Xiao Jie. He was severely burnt when he was 19 months old due to his mother's negligence. He lost four fingers of his right hand and half of his ear. His private part was badly wounded as well. Xiaojie survived, but suffers from multiple remaining wounds and glass-like scars over his head. The scar adhesion on his right leg has restricted the leg's ability to straighten to even 80 degrees. The scar around the anus makes bowl movements difficult. The child's perineal area is now heavily covered by keloid scars, with the scrotum outer cover missing. The testicles are now being highly restrained by the scars and future orthopedic operation is needed. Once the scar overgrowth slows down and the scars softens, approximately a half year from now, Xiao Jie will need multiple operations to treat the scar adhesion.
